This was originally drawn and painted for my Godmother Dorothy, and was a memory of days gone by in Suffolk.
The painting features a mother sitting on a gate reading a letter by the River Bure with the Berney Arms Mill in the background, whilst in the right foreground is her small child.
The landscape is a verbatim view of this mill on the Norfolk Broads.
This gouache has a strong sense of colour and captures the light of the Norfolk I know well.
