This is another product of my trip to Scotland in 2002.
The precipitous view reminds me of the Scots castles in the Grampian Region many of which I visited at the time, such as Balvenie, Huntley and Finlater.
The locomotive is a Great North of Scotland 4-4-0 similar to Gordon Highlander which survives. The style of this picture is reminiscent of those fine railway posters of the 20’s and 30’s.
An hour from the sea signifies that nowhere in Britain was that far from the coast.
