This piece of whimsy was based on a trip to Scotland in 1992 when the family stayed at a cottage in Whitehills near Banff in Scotland.
The castle is based on a local one which has been restored. The car is a 1920’s Armstrong Siddeley 30hp tourer with the Smith family on board.
Across the railway viaduct runs a Caledonian Railway 4-4-0 with a local passenger train. This captures the feel of the landscape during that holiday.
