This was painted from a drawing I made circa 1974 at the Royal College of Art with some detail work drawn by Douglas Kirk who became Head Visualiser at Pixar and later at Dreamworks, and lectured in animation at Caltec.
The drawing is based on the Arthurian Legends – especially Camelot. Dougie drew something in the cave featured on the island. The whole image symbolises trying to obtain the unobtainable.
