Here we see another symbol of the impermanence of human endeavour. The country cottage (a real one) is counterpoised with the mighty ‘Hood’.
The house has collapsed after some 400 years but is possibly still just restorable.
The ‘Hood’ the pride of the Royal Navy, feted across the world as the largest and most powerful warship in the world blew up after a salvo from the German Battleship ‘Bismarck’ in 1941 with the loss of most of its crew less three souls who miraculously survived.
