This was painted from another quick sketch of an Outlaw in the forest.
The Robin Hood like figure is being hunted by a knight on horseback silhouetted against the light of an opening into the forest.
The trees have a life of their own and the canopy is so dense that little light penetrates the forest.
This harks back to that time when a large part of England was covered in forest.
