This painting was set in Lincoln with a bit of artistic licence with the windmill in the castle and a verbatim view of Lincoln Cathedral.
This is a picture within a picture. The view is being drawn by the artist, but of course is a made up view depicting a romantic artist of the calibre of Cotman, Turner or Constable. So the actual romantic artist is me.
I really enjoyed the dynamics of this picture.
