This is another tribute to rust and decay.
There is an itinerant musician hiking down the highway. In the foreground there are the rusting remains of a 1950’s Oldsmobile automobile which was originally white but is now mostly red rust. Prominent is the sign for the diner that has long since shut down.
In the background the flat landscape symbolises the vastness of the American plains.
